Parents and Citizens’ Association (P&C)
Our Parents and Citizens’ Association (P&C) is made up of parents and carers, teachers and community members. The P&C meets regularly to contribute to decision-making, developing policies and management plans as well as fundraising.
The P&C's partnership with the school feeds the heart of an inspirational learning environment that offers a colourful collection of different opportunities for children to connect with the world around them. Whether your child is into sporting ventures, reading books, creating artworks, growing veggies, planting crops, dancing or making music, the P&C play an important part in helping the school provide a rich program to satisfy their curiosity.
But being part of the P&C is not just about attending meetings. It is about being involved when your help is needed, in whatever capacity you can offer. The P&C requires a varied skill set and love it when people come out of the woodwork to help with our events or share their knowledge/expertise regarding programs or issues. It allows and supports you to be a part of the core of the school's business.
Detailed below are the varied committees and programs that the P&C are currently involved in. The P&C through the Canteen sub-committee manage the Canteen. Your children can order from a delicious selection of healthy lunches to satisfy their hunger with warm treats available on cold days and cooling indulgences for those hot ones.
The P&C has a particular fundraising focus for classroom resources. They provide affordable gifts at their stalls for Father's Day, Mother's Day and Christmas. For those children that love to move to the music, the P&C also run the fun filled school discos throughout the year.
School uniforms are available and kept affordable through the P&C Uniform shop. Another P&C managed affair through their Uniform Shop sub-committee.
More recently we have established an amazing Kitchen Garden sub-committee, who have been instrumental in supporting the school's new education programs focussed on lifecycles, planting, design, nutrition and cooking skills. Not forgetting the kitchen garden's chooks and produce contribute to the canteen menu.
The P&C doesn't stop there. We collaborate with the school to fundraise for more creative arts programs through our ‘Art in the Making' initiative – developing skills, understanding of a range of creative visual arts practices and experience in exhibiting their work professionally.
We have established a Music Scholarship program to enable all students an opportunity to learn music if they demonstrate a particular commitment to and talent with it.
The P&C have worked in partnership with the school to provide an Ethics Program as an alternative to Scripture and Non-Scripture classes. The P&C also works in partnership with the school to contribute to curriculum decisions. They can actively lobby government about their policies and prepare grant submissions to attract money for a broad range of school projects for more to support our children.
On a wider scale, the P&C is the parental, school community and broader community representative body for the school and the Department of Education to consult with.
The P&C is about hearing and working with you to make a difference for our children to make their future better, providing additional enrichment to our children's learning life, providing opportunities to have choice and new experiences.
Parents and Carers are most welcome to come to a meeting, share your thoughts, raise any concerns and muck in when another fun filled fundraising event is on the boil. Being a member of the P&C can be a rewarding experience as we watch things happen out of sheer hard work and get to see the children reap the benefits of our effort.
The P&C meet on the third Tuesday of every month at 7.30pm in the staff room. We are always happy to answer any questions. We always welcome new faces, enjoy seeing the regulars and most of all we love working together to create an inspirational learning space for our children.

Interpreting and translations
We will help you communicate with our school. If you’d like an interpreter for a school meeting, let us know and we will arrange one, if available.
If you don’t speak or understand English well and want to contact us, call TIS National on 131 450 and ask for an interpreter in your language. The operator will call the school and get an interpreter to help. This service is free.
